My name is Liam and I have been on a week long work placement at Mancala. I have had a great time at Mancala and learnt a lot about how Mancala’s customers use Internet Marketing to get more Business.
The week I spent at Mancala was a great experience; the team were friendly and enjoyable to work with.
At first I was unsure of what Internet Marketing was but that soon changed.
On the first day, I got an induction and a questionnaire. After that I helped Tracy create a landing page for a florists to promote their Christmas flowers. I then checked links on a website were working correctly then I got to sit in a client meeting which was very different to my normal day at school.
During the second day, I scanned testimonial cards into the computer, I then learnt new Photoshop design skills to merge the front and inside of the cards together, they were then put on a website. I assisted in the production of monthly client updates, which showed stats from different websites and the work that goes into the customers website, and was quite interesting.
On Wednesday I used my new Photoshop skills to help with images and then I researched various car types for one of Mancala’s customers which is something I really enjoyed, as I really like cars!
On the fourth day, I helped create pages to put onto a website, and linking them with other pages. I shadowed Tracy creating an Adwords for a new website that Mancala are launching which is something I didn’t have any knowledge of so but I really found it fascinating.
On the final day, I shadowed Tracy as she was doing Search Engine Optimisation for a new client’s website and bought everyone a Cookie. Yum Yum.
